A Reason to Give: 100 Posts!

On a winter night in 2007, my friends Lourdes and Tyler came over for dinner.  We love food.  We took pictures.  And Fresh.Simple.Good. came into being!   One hundred posts later, much has changed in my life, but I continue blogging, and cooking, and making sure that healthy, nourishing meals are on the table (almost!) every night.

To celebrate one hundred posts on Fresh.Simple.Good, please consider donating to Take Back the Kitchen, a health and culinary arts program for urban youth.  Located in Boston's Dudley Square neighborhood and run by Chef Didi Emmons, the program teaches both school-aged children and young adults how to better their lives by eating well, learning how to cook, and in some cases, pursuing careers in the food services industry.  For the past two summers, I've watched Didi work with her students -- the older students learn technique, and the younger students nutrition.   In the class pictured above, kids learned about produce that they may not have otherwise encountered, and believe me, they learn to love it!  Short of my desire to do the teaching myself, I'm hoping to raise $500 for TBK by the end of the month.  Please use the PayPal button in the sidebar to make your donation.

Here's to the next one hundred posts... and educating more people on eating well and living healthfully!

"Thank you so much Indu! We at TBK hope to instill in kids a sense of adventure and a spirit of "can do" in the kitchen. Because knowing how to cook and cooking is the best way to prevent many deadly diet related diseases that plagues our country.
